Panic in Detroit (actually Camperdown sorry Mr Bowie)

With 5 days to go the question most asked is "have you packed yet?"
Sort of.  3 of the 4 have clothes packed in those neat vacuum pack bags.
Feeling smug lasts only a short time when you realise that clothes aren't the half of it.
How about is the house ready for you to leave (esp when renters are to enter it)? Yes well that bit in the corner no one would ever look at is ready. The living room? No, The kitchen? No, The bedrooms? A bit.
The bathrooms? Are they part of the lease? well no.
So with too much work to get done to keep clients happy, a ballet concert and a mothers visit to fit in I think we are doing well. Hell I even know where the passports are! And the eurail tickets!
To think in 5 days we'll look out a window to see that harbour and those beaches disappearing and be happy that we are leaving!  Or is that a sigh or relief that we made the plane? Head back, smile there are 6 weeks of adventure ahead in a language I can only order coffee or beer in. Yes I think it will go well.

  1. Have confidence in you to multi-task your multi-tasks before D-Day.
Here's a suggestion: Throw everything in one room & lock that room. For added precaution, stick one of those "Beware Nuclear Zone" signs on the door! Bet your renters will certainly keep away. When you come back, you can still leave that room in that state, and the rest of your house will still look neat and tidy. LOL.
