Barcelona
41degrees 22minutes North 2degrees 10minutes East.
The overnight train pulls into Barcelona at 09:00. Out of the station and into the bright air of a new city.
I love arriving in the morning when the city is fresh and vibrant with the energy of a new day. We had clear directions to the apartment our clearest so far.
A great apartment in an arabic part of the city. Just full of life in a narrow lane. We have a halal butcher, fruitier, mini marts all in the lane. We have had great luck with the apartments, can't recommend Airbnb site enough.
Did the tourist thing and had a ride around in the tourist bus. Jumped off at the Port and marina area.
Ended up at the beach, G&M built a sandcastle and dared the tide to wash it away. When all of a sudden we were invaded by French school adolescent kids who obviously don't spend much time at a beach. But they had a ball and it provided us with entertainment. Some went the whole bit and stripped down to undies and dove in.
Max finally gets a Messi shirt and gets pretty excited when he finds out we will visit the Barcelona stadium. Don't worry Lucas he still insists he is an AFL fan.
