We stayed with a relative, Prilly in her wonderful house in Holland Park which backs onto a common garden / square which is shared by the other houses backing on to this.  Originally, (before WWI) it was a race course & later the ground was found to be too hard for horses.  The houses on the square and in Holland Park were built after WWI and was the first example of residential urban planning in London.

It was wonderful to see Prilly who has been living there since 1927.  As always, she is very welcoming and generous to us and it was also lovely to see Lucy, (her youngest daughter) and her family who live upstairs.  Prilly enjoys regular visits from all her family including her great grandchildren.  Grace and Max loved it there and felt right at home there playing in the garden and with all the wonderful toys and books.  They did not want to leave....Actually, we were a bit crazy to think that 3 days in London would be enough!
